“Convenient” / “To be convenient”

方便 is usually used as an adjective or verb to talk about convenience or ease of doing something.


✅ Common Sentence Patterns + Examples:

1. A 对 B 很方便 – “A is convenient for B”

  • 这家超市离我家很近,对我很方便
    (Zhè jiā chāoshì lí wǒ jiā hěn jìn, duì wǒ hěn fāngbiàn.)
    → This supermarket is close to my home, very convenient for me.

2. 什么时候你方便? – “When is convenient for you?”

  • 我们约个时间聊聊,你什么时候方便?
    (Wǒmen yuē gè shíjiān liáo liáo, nǐ shénme shíhòu fāngbiàn?)

Sometimes people use 方便 as a euphemism for going to the bathroom, especially in a polite or indirect way:
